Campus Involvement

During my three-year tenure as Vice President of the American Marketing Association (AMA) on campus, I had the incredible opportunity to witness the organization's growth and impact firsthand. Serving as a bridge between our members and the executive board, I played a pivotal role in shaping our chapter's strategic direction and fostering a vibrant marketing community. Through a multitude of events, workshops, and campaigns, we not only enhanced students' marketing skills but also actively engaged with local businesses, such as Wildcountry and Destihl, contributing to the broader community. Being Vice President allowed me to forge lasting connections, collaborate on innovative projects, and instill a passion for marketing in fellow students. As we constantly sought to refine our outreach efforts and uphold the values of AMA, I am proud of the lasting legacy we built during my tenure.

Destihl Brewery

During my time with DESTIHL in Normal, IL, I held a multifaceted role that encompassed various aspects of product development and marketing. As a leader, I directed the conceptual design process, defined key product features, and provided crucial support throughout the development. Leveraging my creative skills, I developed a compelling advertisement using Blender to effectively market their new beverage, reaching a broader audience. I also took charge of reviewing product development budgets and expenditures, ensuring efficient resource allocation and research alignment. An integral part of my role involved leading extensive research focus groups, which comprised over 40 students and faculty members. I skillfully translated the complex insights gathered from these groups into actionable recommendations. To facilitate decision-making, I generated comprehensive reports and data visualizations from the focus groups, presenting the findings to clients and senior management for informed choices. Furthermore, I contributed to increasing product awareness by crafting customized marketing materials that resonated with our target audience.

During my tenure at the company, I took on a multifaceted role that involved enhancing various aspects of our online presence and sales performance. I spearheaded an SEO outreach initiative, resulting in a remarkable 70% improvement in Shopify load speeds, ensuring a smoother and more efficient user experience. Additionally, I undertook ongoing keyword research and optimization efforts, expanding our organic search footprint and driving highly relevant traffic to our site. Working at a valet company owned by a friend, we've not only excelled in providing top-notch service but also forged valuable relationships with local restaurants. Our teamwork and customer service skills have grown, and we've become trusted partners for restaurant owners and patrons alike. This experience has given us a profound appreciation for the role of hospitality in the dining industry while strengthening our bonds as friends and colleagues.

My sister embarked on a remarkable entrepreneurial journey by establishing a company specializing in nourishing juices tailored for expectant mothers, providing essential nutrients ideal for this unique phase of life. I enthusiastically stepped in to assist her in managing her social media presence across platforms like Instagram and Facebook, effectively amplifying our brand's reach and engagement. Moreover, I assumed the role of handling our accounting needs, a responsibility she hadn't previously encountered. Our dedication and hard work bore fruit, as within a year, we received an invitation from Shark Tank representatives expressing interest in featuring our venture on the acclaimed TV show. Despite this incredible opportunity, my sister made the challenging decision to decline, given her busy schedule and the recent arrival of her second child.
